Holiday in the Park

Every year my sisters and us take the kids to this outdoor holiday gathering at the Galleria. There's a full symphony, train rides, horse carriage rides, picture op with Santa, face-painting, cookies galore with hot cocoa and hot cider. And best of all- Its all free and open to the public.

The Tourist

I was invited yesterday to the premiere of The Tourist by my lovely cousins. So we all got dressed up and made it a 'Gals Night Out' at the movies and then dinner. Funny thing was what Steve said while I was leaving the house... "are y'all sure you guys are only going to the movies... You know it's dark in there". Lol.

But what a fun chance to get together, look cute, and catch up.

I am by no means a movie critic and I'm not going to pretend to discuss plots and the such... But I give it a A-. It was good movie. Johnny Depp was a cutie pie (in a grudgy way) and Angelina Josie was absolutely breathtaking.

Being such an Us Magazine & E Entertainment junkie... It's neat seeing all of the papparazzi pics from months before put together in the movie.

Our home

What Santa gave the Nguyen's in 2010 was new plumbing.

It started off with a couple of blocks down the toilet....which in turn backed up all the toilets in the house. So the dreaded plumbing works begins....

At first it was a novelty peeing in Hayden's porter potty.... But that was short lived. We took a lot of trips to the store to buy gas or groceries (while using their toilets of course) until our plumber could get out to the house on the weekend.

After plucking out parts of the deck and lots of digging by a crew of 5...they replaced our main sewer line and pushed Hayden's toys (and prob lots of crap... No pun intended) through. I'm sure it wasn't Hayden's block that damaged the plumbing. We had put it off for some time in fact. It was just the straw that broke the camels back.

Part of the territory with a 70 year old home...which we actually love.. And still love.

Movie: Love & Other Drugs

Movie was a great choice... A real tear jerker. I love those! Had a great evening and now we get to go home to this!

Lasik is what I will be asking Santa for this year

Christmas and the end of 2010 is coming way too fast.

Because I decided to change up my red and gold color scheme to green and gold this year, I went to Michael's to pick up a few items. While reaching up high for some branch-like wreaths my glasses got knocked off my face when some of the wreaths fell to the ground. I was not with Steve at the time and felt literally blind. As a fumbled through the stuff for a bit, there was no way I was going to be able to find it on my own. So I squinted and walked a few aisles over and asked a couple to come and help. We all got a chuckle over it but it was definitely a reminder why I need lasik.

I bought some green ribbons, three rustic branch-like wreaths which I tore down and wrapped around the tree (a great tip from Tina), and a few green poinsettias.

The printed green ribbon is actually fabric I already had in which I cut into 4" strips.

At work with mom on Saturday

Work on Saturday is always better with Hayden running around.

It starts off with breakfast at Burger King.... Then off to the office.

Hayden decided he wanted some of mommy's coffee.. Luckily it wasn't hot anymore.

Then Hayden decides to practice his sharp-shooting skills. Caught him with his pants down peeing into small holes in one of my exercise equipment. Sorry no pics... I was shocked and flaubergausted.

So to keep an eye on him, I allowed him to follow me into a treatment room with a patient. He sat patiently and before we knew it... he was fast asleep.

All and all... work is never work with Hayden around. Its better.....

Hayden sick with stomach virus

Giving children medicine when they are sick is so tough.

Hayden's been crying and holding his stomach in pain for the last few days. Not much you can do but wait it out. To help with some of the discomfort, kids pepto bismol in chewable tablets was recommended. Of course Hayden wasn't gonna have any of it.

We thought we would crush the tablet down and let him suck it up like candy pixie sticks....

Worked like a charm.

Halloween 2010

This year Hayden was dress as firefighter... actually a 'chippendale stripper' in a fireman costume (hee hee). We decided to skip trick-or-treating with friends in our neighborhood to go see both grandparents as well the uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Hayden was totally excited to go trick-or-treating this time around.

Beautiful weather for some golf

While most kids are about to go to bed, we manage to squeeze in some golf. Its a Saturday anyways.....
