Barnes and Nobles on a Lazy Sunday

We love LAZY SUNDAYS. No obligations except to ourselves...

So we decided to go to the bookstore, a place where there is something for each of our likes. Steve and I usually dive into home and fashion magazines while Hayden is bright-eyed for fun kid's books, and of course a Starbucks cookie.

In browsing through the kids area, we found lots of educational books and felt like it was our duty to do our part with teaching Hayden.

His vocabulary is definitely lacking but this kid is so enthusiastic about learning, and has a memory like no other. So we are dedicating most evenings with at least 30 mins of fun, study time. I think he really loves the family time around the dinner table and the funny, excitement screams from mommy and daddy.

Pardon the fact that he wasn't wearing any pants at that time....Hee hee

Child labor

My little niece Jules is such a cutie and a great helper! We'll see if she's still smiling in ten years when she can't be tricked any longer. Lol

Debbie and Vu's new home is almost completed. Tentative move in date is just around the corner.

Congrats!

Lunch at Tiny Boxwoods in Houston

What a cute little cafe/restaurant!

Steve dragged me out for a nice lunch... And what a surprise and cute place! I hear the dinner menu is even better!

The ambience is so nice. Its like eating in a beautiful park. I only have pics of the outdoors because I didn't want to be the typical Japanese tourist pulling out my camera.

Definitely not good parenting!

This pint size tv (with apple tv installed) is our sanity.... Everyone's happy! Except mom, of course, when dad wants to watch sports center on the big tv...

New Years 2011

To ring in the new year, we went downtown to enjoy the fireworks, live music, and light show. This was our first year there.... and boy were we impressed with Houston. It felt like we were in New York! It was family friendly and such a thrill to be there with Hayden. He loved it and was sooo excited to be there.

Christmas photoshoot for Grandma & Grandpa

Christmas 2010

Christmas morning Steve, Hayden, and I sleep in and wake up to a delicious bowl of pho made by my sister, Cindy. With everyone lounging around, we enjoy everyone's company before opening gifts. This year Tina's family was in Michigan so our gathering was smaller than the usual. But Thuy (Barry's girlfriend) and the Tran's joined us this year.

There was so much snow!!!!
Here we are stopping to navigate down the mountain.

Fooling around...

This was Hayden's first ski lessons. According to the instructor, he had a great time. We didn't have any pictures of him going up or down in his ski because we were too busy having a great time ourselves.

BAD MOMMY & DADDY (hee hee)

We caught a glimpse of him during our lunch break and found him pooped and tired from all of the fun.

The strap around his leg is a GPS monitor..... which definitely gives parents some peace of mind!
